Diwali, also known “Festival of Lights,” is an ancient Indian festival celebrated every year in autumn. The festival spiritually signifies the victory of
good over evil, light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. Diwali is time to socialize, and meet with relatives, friends, and neighbors.
The celebration of Diwali is marked by the lighting of lamps in every courtyard and the bursting of firecrackers. Traditionally homes are lit up with earthen oil lamps.
But this year we tried something new using Bridgelux V series™ arrays!
Special lighting effects on our house attracted a lot of people. A friend of mine even sent his mom to see and experience the lighting. Comments from people who saw our house included:
“Wow, it’s amazing”
“This looks great”
“Ati sunder” (It’s beautiful (Hindi))
Everyone wanted to see how lighting effects were created. All of us enjoyed playing with lights, choosing color temperatures, beam angles, and positioning the lights to get the best effect. My wife and two sons were especially particular about positioning of each light. Everybody loved the experience!
One thing was reinforced in my mind during this celebration: good lighting does attract people.
