BRIDGELUX LED ARRAYS SELECTED BY LEDTOLITE TO ILLUMINATE DIOR BOOTH IN GALERIES LAFAYETTE
Innovative fixture design adds warmth and sparkle to fragrance display, delivers 5 times the energy efficiency of traditional lighting
Livermore, Calif., April 25, 2011 – Further strengthening its leadership position in the retail lighting market, Bridgelux Inc., a leading developer and manufacturer of LED lighting technologies and solutions, today announced that LEDTOLITE of France has selected Bridgelux’s LED Array light sources for its innovative double downlight design for the Dior Fragrance booth in the magnificent “Galeries Lafayette” in Paris, France.
“LEDTOLITE Lighting was asked by the Dior architects and lighting designers to help them bring their new fixture design vision to life,” said Damien Joyeux, project manager of LEDTOLITE. “We designed a unique luminaire to produce the incredible light quality and effects expected in this dazzling, magical place, concurrently delivering 5 times the energy efficiency of traditional lighting.” Bridgelux’s LED Arrays deliver high quality light across the range of color temperatures we required in order to create the ideal combination of aesthetics and functionality. Further, use of the LED arrays greatly simplified our fixture design and shortened our product development cycle for this specialty luminaire.”
The Spotlight Zephyr delivers both warm and cool white light from the same fixture. The commercially available downlight integrates two aluminum sphere, adjustable spot lights, offering both 24 and 50 degree beam angles. Uniquely, the downlight offers a warm white (3000K) spot and a cool white (5600K) spot allowing lighting designers to highlight the rich colors of their products while simultaneously adding sparkle to their displays. Each spot delivers 1200 lumens and since the LED lighting produces no heat in the light beam the light may be installed at relatively low ceiling heights for impactful illumination without degrading products or discomforting customers.
“This product and the resulting installation are the outcome of a tremendously successful collaborative effort between Dior, LEDTOLITE, and Bridgelux, said “Markus Maile, vice president of European Sales for Bridgelux. LEDTOLITE’s imaginative and elegant fixture design was developed on the basis of Bridgelux’s advanced technology, all ultimately reflecting Dior’s vision of how leading-edge LED technology can dramatically enhance the consumer retail shopping experience.”
