Bridgelux APPOINTS KEY EXECUTIVES IN U.S. AND EUROPE

Company Augments Marketing and Sales Teams to Drive Continued Worldwide Growth

SUNNYVALE, CALIF., April 23, 2008—Bridgelux,
Inc., a leading supplier of energy-saving LED technology for high-volume,
solid-state lighting markets, today announced the appointments of
Keith Scott as vice president of business development, and David
Barnby as vice president of sales and general manager for EMEA.
These latest strategic hires bolster Bridelux’s already impressive
management roster; and follows closely on the heels of the company’s
latest round of financing announcement, which totaled $40 million.

“Bridgelux is pleased to welcome both Keith and David as the
newest members to its executive management team—both of these
gentlemen will play a key role in taking the company to the next
stage of growth,” commented Mark Swoboda, CEO of Bridgelux.
“Specifically, Keith is a seasoned lighting industry veteran
with deep market experience and a unique understanding of the new
product opportunities afforded within our dynamic industry. We are
confident of his ability to help us drive alignment of our technology
roadmap with our new product strategy.”

Swoboda added, “As for David, we see great potential for Bridgelux
to expand its presence in the European market. We are confident
that his extensive experience in building and leading sales and
distribution networks in this region will prove instrumental in
forging closer ties throughout EMEA. Not only does his appointment
demonstrate our deep commitment to our EMEA customer base, but it
also shows our unwavering commitment to improve our support infrastructure
in this critical region.”

Scott, who will be based at Bridgelux’s Silicon Valley headquarters,
has more than 20 years of global experience in the commercial and
consumer lighting industry, having held various positions in product
and market development. Scott joins Bridgelux from Philips Lumileds
where he grew a multi-million-dollar, solid-state lighting business
while serving in various marketing and product development roles
during his six-year tenure. Prior to Philips Lumileds, he held multiple
marketing roles at OSRAM Sylvania, Inc., for 14 years where he launched
both individual and families of high-growth, innovative lighting
and lamp compound products. He received his bachelor’s degree
in math and physics from Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y.,
and a master’s degree in business administration from Lesley
University in Cambridge, Mass.

Based out of Paris, Barnby brings more than 20 years experience
managing and growing business opportunities within Europe for high-technology
Silicon Valley companies. Prior to joining the company, he was the
EMEA vice president of sales and marketing for Pinnacle Systems
(the consumer division of Avid Technology) where he was responsible
for managing the consumer IT retail and distribution channels across
Europe, Central/Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Previously,
Barnby served as vice president, global sales and marketing in the
OEM Solutions Business Group within Thales. There, he implemented
the transition from a technology-led approach to a market-driven
one to better pursue the rapidly emerging opportunities across the
companies within the group. From 1985 until 2003, Barnby held multiple
general management, sales and marketing positions within Hewlett
Packard (HP), including EMEA and worldwide responsibility for the
company’s Optoelectronic and RF Semiconductor products (Components
Group).
